Badrinath Ki Dulhania director Shashank Khaitan keen to make another sequel – After the overwhelming success of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the ace director Shashank Khaitan says he is very much keen to make another installment with the Dulhania franchise. The Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s romantic comedy flick that released last Friday, 10th of March 2017, which is said to be a sequel to Shashank Khaitan’s directed superhit film, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.’ Bollywood’s cute on-screen couple Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan have appeared in the lead. The movie has made a business of over Rs. 60 Crores at Indian box office.
The filmmaker Shashank Said, ” We are extremely delighted with the response. We are getting a lot of encouragement from it. After seeing the movie, the audience coming out of the theaters with happy faces. So, I am really keen to make the 3rd installment of Badrinath Ki Dulhania.”
During the sidelines of screening of ‘Trapped’ here on Tuesday, Shashank said, ” But till now what will be the story of the third sequel and when will we start it, that has not been decided yet.” Our 2nd installment released last week, which gives a message of women empowerment. ” Through this movie, we have tried to give a significant message in a very entertaining way. Critics as well as audience realizing and appreciating the core message that movie gives. So we as a team very happy with the recent outcome and result of the flick.”, he added.
Considering the fact while making the comparison between sequel seems to be inevitable, and according to the director keeping some common elements such as a love story sets in the small town and the lead pair aside. The stories of these two movies are different. ” When I reached to Karan Johar with the movie, at that time I had no motive that it would become a part of the franchise. I wrote the storyline for an independent film. After hearing a story, Karan came up with the idea of making it as an installment of their Dulhania series. However, the world of Badrinath is different from that of Humpty Sharma”, said Shashank.
While taking the reference of a sequence in Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Shashank said that” Love and respect both are equally significant for the successful relationship. In early days, we saw many couples, who were survived in arranged marriage depending on their respect for each other, without affection and passion.”
When asked with which Bollywood he wants to work, he said that” I wanted to work with everyone in the film industry, but my major focus is to write a good script and based on that approach the actor who is best suitable for that role. If I approach superstar Aamir Khan first, then he would be asking for a good script, which I don’t have at the moment”, he replied.
