Phillauri Review

Here check out the Phillauri Review by critics which exhibit that, it is the story of Shashi, a ghost bride. The period-back story involving Shashi & her lover played by Diljit seriously drags the movie. The big fat Punjabi wedding of Kanan (Suraj Sharma) with Anu (Mehreen Kaur Pirzada) as the usual celebration fare in the first half of the movie. Kanan has to be married to a tree as he is a manglik person and then he ends up accidentally marrying a ghost (Anushka Sharma) residing on the tree.

The movie has it hilarious parts but it moves at a slow pace when the ghost follows Suraj and he falls in confused situation after he has got himself into it. The flick transitions seamlessly between both the love stories, placed in different eras. The climax of the movie showcase the entire sequence where Anu and Kanan solve Shashi’s mystery.

As far as star performance is concerned, Anushka Sharma as a ghost bride pulls off a nice act, while Diljit Dosanjh has wonderful screen presence. Suraj Sharma aptly essays a confused NRI and Mehreen Pirzada delivers a delightful performance in her debut film. Overall, Phillauri is fun watch due to its light-hearted story.
